Whale/Wildlife Sea Safari
Our Whale/Wildlife Sea Safari is ideal for a more ‘personal’ cruise because we are licensed to carry only 12 passengers.
Our 4-hour cruise departs Tobermory daily from the main Ledaig pontoon. We cruise into the Sound of Mull, passing Rubha nan Gall Lighthouse and on through Bloody Bay to Ardmore Point and thence into the open seas. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of our magical Minke whales as well as mighty Basking sharks, Harbour porpoises, Common and Bottlenose dolphins and the very occasional Killer whale (Orca).
Eyes to the skies as well for regular sightings of a wide variety of birdlife including Golden eagles, White-tailed eagles, fast flying Peregrine falcons as well as many species of sea birds including Gannets, Puffins, Great and Arctic skuas, Guillemots, Razorbills and the spectacular Manx shearwaters to name but a few.
All this with a stunning backdrop of the scenery of the Isle of Mull and its many surrounding islands.
Our sightings of whales, dolphins, porpoises and sharks are reported to THE HEBRIDEAN WHALE AND DOLPHIN TRUST to aid their important long-term research into our local wildlife populations. Photos from our close encounters also get entered into their photo-identification database.
We hold the belief that smaller groups of people truly make for a more personal and intimate experience. So come on and join us onboard our fast day boat SILVER SWIFT for a day to remember.
