Scenic Local Sea Life Cruise
Our SCENIC LOCAL SEA LIFE CRUISE leaves Tobermory daily from Ledaig pontoons. Either of our day boats TANGO or SILVER SWIFT are fast day boats and as such can cover much more ‘ground’ than some of our competitors. For example, our one and a half hour trip takes us out into Tobermory Bay and further along the shoreline of Aros Park to see Spidhu Waterfall where the sailing boats of ancient times would fill their barrels with drinking water. It’s then across to Calve Island to a small colony of common seals for whom these rocks are home. From here we head out past Rubha nan Gall Lighthouse and on to the salmon fish-farm in Bloody Bay. You will also hear tales of the ancient sea battle of Bloody Bay, one of the turning points in Scottish history. No other vessels operating ex Tobermory can cover this much ground in a one and a half hour trip. On this local cruise we often see Porpoises, Seals, Guillemots, Razorbills, Kittiwakes, Shags, Manx shearwaters, Gannets and sometimes Great and Arctic skuas, Fulmars or the magnificent Golden and White-tailed eagles. Because we log our sightings, when you book, you can check what's being seen.
